An automotive brake mold is a tool designed for the production of automotive brake components. It is comprised of a mold body, upper and lower section, and a casting core. The mold body supports the casting core in a spaced relationship with the mold cavity walls, with the space corresponding to the shape of the article to be cast. The mold body contains a flow passage in which the molten metal is introduced. The mold cavity also contains a down sprue that extends through the mold cavity and is supported by a filter.
